“A Civil Funeral is a funeral driven by the wishes, beliefs and values of the deceased and their family, not by the beliefs or ideology of the person conducting the funeral. It sits between a religious service and a humanist funeral”
I am committed to delivering the highest standards of what a funeral can and should be.
Once I have been asked by your funeral director, to work with you, I will arrange to visit you so we can work together to plan the ceremony you want for your loved one. It may be that they have left details of the kind of ceremony they want to have – and have even chosen music and readings – but if not, we will talk through all of that together to decide what is most appropriate.
Most importantly I will ask you to tell me all about the person who has died so that I can write and tell their story – if you wish me to. And if a family member or friend wants to pay their own tribute I will support them to do just that.
Once I have written the ceremony, I will send it to you so that you and your family can check it for omissions and mistakes. The most important thing to me is that once the funeral has taken place, you feel you have ‘done justice’ to the person you love.
A week or so after the ceremony I will write to you again to send printed copies of the full script for immediate family members.
I comply with all the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations and I will never pass your details on to any third parties.
