About Diane

I was born and raised in West Yorkshire where I now reside after spending 10 years in Derbyshire working as a celebrant.

I still work as a celebrant across both counties.

All of my working life has been spent in the public sector – serving others. I was PA to a Member of Parliament for 20 years and was very used to meeting with people in times of distress and difficulty. During that time I also studied for and gained a BA from the University of Leeds.

In 2015 I completed the rigorous training course offered by Civil Ceremonies Ltd and obtained a Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy.

Since starting out as a civil funeral celebrant I have worked with over 2000 families to prepare and lead a personal funeral ceremony for their loved one. I am committed to maintaining the very high standards we should all expect at a funeral. I have also undertaken extra training to lead baby and child ceremonies, write better tributes and deal with especially sensitive situations – suicide, murder, accidental death.

I believe it is a privilege to do what I do, to be with people at such a vulnerable and difficult time. There is no more satisfaction to be found than knowing I have played my part in giving someone the personal, respectful and dignified farewell that they deserve.
